Angul, June 17: A youth was killed and another sustained critical injuries after a motorcycle lost control and met with an accident near Sanhula under Thakurgarh police station limits in Odisha's Angul district.

The deceased has been identified as Basudev Dehury, while Sumanta Dehury suffered serious injuries in the mishap. Both are residents of Jamunali village.

According to the deceased's aunt, Surjya Dehury, Basudev and Sumanta were travelling from Sanhula village to Boinda when the accident occurred. Their motorcycle reportedly lost balance while negotiating a bend near Sanhula, leading to the crash.

The two injured youths were immediately rushed to Athmallik Medical Hospital for treatment. However, Basudev Dehury succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Sumanta Dehury is undergoing treatment and remains in critical condition.
