Baripada, October 5: The Odisha Vigilance on Monday launched simultaneous searches at 10 locations across Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Khordha districts in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets (DA) case involving Arabinda Mohanty, Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B Sub-Division, Betnoti, under R&B Division, Baripada.

The searches are being conducted on the allegation that Mohanty has allegedly possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The operation is being carried out on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.

A team comprising five DSPs, eight Inspectors and other supporting personnel is conducting the searches at the following locations:

• A triple-storeyed residential building at Angargadia in Balasore.
• A double-storeyed building at Balianta in Khordha district.
• The office of Arabinda Mohanty at Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district.
• His residence at Betnoti.
• His paternal house at Rayan-Ramachandrapur in Jaleswar, Balasore district.
• His farmhouse at Basantapur in Balasore district.
• Another house belonging to him at Bamapada in Balasore.
• The residence of a close associate at Angargadia, Balasore.
• The residence of another close aide at Baisinga in Mayurbhanj district.
• The residence of another associate at Bamapada in Balasore district.

The searches are currently underway, and the Vigilance authorities are expected to assess documents, property records and other materials during the operation.
