Sundargarh, Apr 1: An Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) reportedly escaped from the clutches of jail officials while he was undergoing treatment at District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha’s Sundargarh.
As per reports, the UTP identified as Arjun Munda was arrested in December last year in connection with a murder case. He was admitted to the DHH for surgery on March 29. However, he reportedly gave a slip to the jail officials at the hospital and managed to flee.
After learning about it, the jail authorities lodged a complaint with Sundargarh Town Police in this regard.
Based on the complaint, police launched a manhunt to trace and nab the accused.
