Puri, Sept 28: Internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shree Awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a stunning sand sculpture of Goddess Durga on Puri Beach to wish Team India good luck ahead of their Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan in Dubai tonight.

As per reports, Pattnaik sculpted a 6-foot-tall sculpture using nearly five tons of sand. It depicts Maa Durga bestowing her blessings on the Indian cricket team. The artwork symbolizes national unity, cultural pride, and the spirit of sportsmanship.

The sculpture features 250 intricately carved sand balls, symbolizing strength, teamwork, and the collective hopes of millions of cricket fans across the nation.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, Pattnaik shared a picture of his sand sculpture and wrote, “Maa Durga’s blessings to Team India as they gear up for the #AsiaCup2025 Final! I created this sand art at Puri Beach, Odisha, featuring Maa Durga with an installation of 250 sand balls — symbolizing strength, unity, and good wishes. 🇮🇳🏏 “Good Luck, Team India!” #SandArt #DurgaPuja #TeamIndia.”

It is worth noting that the 2025 Asia Cup final is scheduled to be played today (September 280 between India and Pakistan in Dubai. This will be the first time the two rivals meet in the Asia Cup final in the tournament's 41-year history.

The match will begin at 8 PM Indian Standard Time, with the toss scheduled for 7:30 PM IST.
