Bhubaneswar, July: Former Choudwar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday at the party's state headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
Biswal, who was previously associated with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and BJP Odisha president Manmohan Samal.
He, along with hundreds of his supporters, joined the BJP today.
His son, Souvic Biswal, is currently the MLA representing the Choudwar Assembly constituency.
With the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections approaching, Pravat Biswal's induction into the BJP is being viewed as a politically significant development that could influence the state's political landscape.
