Odisha revises UG Phase-I admission schedule amid flood situation

Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: The Odisha government has revised the Phase-I undergraduate admission schedule for the 2026-27 academic session in view of the ongoing flood situation across the state.

The Higher Education Department said the decision was taken to ease difficulties faced by students and educational institutions in flood-affected areas. The revised timeline applies to all +3 degree programmes offered by State Public Universities, Government, Aided, Unaided, and Law Colleges under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).

Under the updated schedule, applicants selected in the third and final round of Phase-I admissions must report to their allotted institutions by August 5, 2026, before 5:00 PM to complete the admission process. Institutions have been directed to update the admission details of enrolled students in the e-Space portal by 9:00 PM on the same day.

For the fourth round, which will be conducted as the Waiting or Spot Selection Round, the list of waitlisted candidates will be published on August 8, 2026, at 12:00 noon in the HEIs' e-Space and students' login portals. The list will be prepared based on the vacancies available after the completion of the third round.

Waitlisted applicants will be required to report physically to their respective institutions between August 10 (11:00 AM) and August 11 (4:00 PM) with their Common Application Form (CAF) and supporting documents. Candidates are expected to appear in person, although an authorised representative carrying valid identity proof may report on their behalf.

The merit list of eligible waitlisted applicants will be displayed on the institutes' notice boards and websites on August 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Selected candidates will also be informed through phone calls or SMS.

The document verification process, payment of admission fees, and final admission will be conducted by the respective institutions in online mode using net banking, bank challan, NEFT, or UPI. Admission data will be updated in the institutions' e-Space portal between August 13 (10:00 AM) and August 14 (5:00 PM).

The Higher Education Department added that the schedule for the Phase-II admission process will be announced separately. Students seeking assistance can contact the e-Admission helpline through the toll-free numbers 155335 or 1800-345-6770.
