Balangir, March 28: With the controversy escalated over an Odisha MLA’s blank firing during the Ram Navami procession, the Balangir police has initiate an investigation into the matter.
Following a complaint registered in this connection, the Titlagarh police seized the pistol, that’s used during the event. At the same time the MLA’s Personal Security Officer (PSO) was withdrawn, allegedly for his assistance in firing the shot amid the crowd.
At the same time, further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the pistol and its sole ownership.
In an unprecedented turn of events, an Odisha MLA has pulled controversy after he reportedly fired blank shots during the Ram Navami procession held on Friday.
The incident took place at Titlagarh yesterday while MLA Naveen Jain was seen making blank firing amid the Ram Navami procession, held here.
According to report, the Legislator had taken part in the Ram Navami processioin wherein thousands of devotees were present to celebrate the spiritual festivity marking the birthday of Lord Ram. Meanwhile, the rejoiced MLA Titlagarh suddenly opened blank fire from a pistol that he pulled out from his pocket amid the crowd.
As the video, that goes viral on social media features, someone cladding uniform assisted the elated MLA in firing the shots safely into air. Following the firing, the MLA kept the firearm in its place, and marched ahead on the procession.
