Odisha: Man torches neighbour’s house after finding wife’s extra-marital affair

Paradip, June 3: In a shocking incident in Nuabazar area of Odisha’s Paradip, a man allegedly set his neighbor’s house on fire after finding out about his wife's extra-marital affair with the neighbor. The incident took place on Sunday night and has left the local people shocked.
Eyewitnesses said the angry husband forcefully took his wife to the neighbour’s veranda before setting the house on fire. He reportedly did this after arguing with her, during which she admitted to having an affair.
Sources said the man ran away with the couple’s two children after setting the fire. The fire department reached the spot quickly and was able to stop the fire from spreading. No one was hurt, but the house was badly damaged.
Paradip police have started an investigation and have found the accused. While speaking to the media, he admitted to the crime but said he did it in fit of rage.
“I overheard my wife talking on the phone with that man—our neighbour. He told her that I was her first husband and he was her second. When I asked my wife about it, she tried to hide the truth and avoid the topic,” he said.
