Balasore, Oct 31: In a tragic incident, a home guard working at Soro police station in Odisha’s Balasore district died after being hit by a container truck this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sushanta Sethy, a resident of Rupakhanda village.
As per reports, the mishap took near College Square on National Highway 16 when Sushanta had gone to College Square to have tea after completing his duty and a container truck hit him before fleeing the scene. As a result, he died on the spot.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the container near Simulia after a brief chase. Later, the cops recovered the deceased’s body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.
The driver, identified as Kisan Das from the Siliguri area, and the helper of the container have been detained at the police station for questioning.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
