Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: Odisha government is going to set up a mega steel plant in mineral-rich Keonjhar district.
The decision came up after CM Mohan Charan Majhi expressed his interest to establish a large scale industry in Keonjhar which is home to abundant land, water, power, communication and all other essential infrastructure, apart from having a good teasure of mineral resources.
During a review relating to progress of industries across the state on Saturday, the CM said, sincere efforts should be stepped up for establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar district soon.
It was also decided at the meeting that a task force will be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for holding talks with different industrial houses for establishment of a mega steel plant in Keonjhar.
Apart from it,the CM emphasized on establishing a number of labor-intensive industries with other value added projects in the district which will generate fabulous employment opportunities for the state.
