Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the proposal to upgrade all 7,579 mini Anganwadi centres to regular centres in the state.
Rs 55.21 crore will be spent for the upgradation of these 7579 mini Anganwadi centres. Out of this, the state government will bear Rs 36.40, while the Central government will spend Rs 18.80 crore, according to an official release.
The funds also cover medical kits, furniture and other equipment as well as administrative expenses.
Patnaik said that the child development services in the state can be expanded further.
It is worth mentioning that Anganwadi centres are working in the state for the care and early education of children.
