Bhubaneswar, Sept 16: Young people in Odisha will now have a platform to put forward their ideas for the country’s develop ment as the Viksit Bharat Youth Leadership Dialogue (VBYLD)-2027 was launched at Kalinga Stadium recently. The initiative, implemented by MY Bharat under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, seeks to involve young people in shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Launching the programme in Odisha, Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj called upon young people across the state to actively participate and use the opportunity to turn their ideas into action.

The minister said the Youth Voices campaign aims to help young people bridge the journey from classrooms to boardrooms and playgrounds to Parliament. The government is also working with premier institutions such as the IITs to help turn innovative ideas emerging from the programme into practical products and services.
The programme is open to young people aged 15 to 29 years. Viksit Bharat Youth Leadership Dialogue invites 15-29 year-olds to pitch ideas and compete through district and state rounds Selected participants can take their vision to New Delhi The selection process begins with the online Viksit Bharat Quiz, which began on August 17 and will continue till September 30. Those who qualify in the quiz will move on to a 500-word essay competition, followed by district- and state-level selection rounds.
The initiative offers participants six tracks to choose from: Viksit Bharat Challenge, Cultural Track, Design for Bharat, Hack for Social Cause, Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge and Youth Parliament. Students from schools, colleges and universities across Odisha can register through the MY Bharat portal. Those selected as state delegates will get an opportunity to travel to New Delhi, where they will present their ideas and vision directly to Union Ministers, senior govern ment officials and the Prime Minister.

The Sports and Youth Services Department is collaborating with MY Bharat and the National Service Scheme (NSS) to spread awareness about the programme across Odisha. Sports Director Dr Yeddula Vijay, Additional Secretary, Sports and Youth Services, Sudha kar Naik, and state directors from MY Bharat and NSS were present at the launch.
