Bhubaneswar, October 9: The Indian Railways has decided to augment additional coaches temporarily in four trains operating on important routes to clear rush during the upcoming festive season. This initiative aims to accommodate more passengers, provide additional berths and ease the rush during the festive period.
According to an East Coast Railway (ECoR) release, additional coaches will be attached to Howrah–Puri Super Fast Express, Shalimar–Charlapalli East Coast Express, Santragachi–Yelahanka AC Express and Rourkela–Jagdalpur Intercity Express.

Train No. 12837 Howrah–Puri Super Fast Express will be augmented with one additional Sleeper Class coach from October 11 to 16.
Train No. 18045 Shalimar–Charlapalli East Coast Express will be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach on October 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 16. In addition, one Sleeper Class coach will be attached to the train on October 12.
Train No. 18063 Santragachi–Yelahanka AC Express will be augmented with one additional 3rd AC coach on October 15.
Similarly, Train No. 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Intercity Express will be augmented with one additional Sleeper Class coach on October 16.
“The temporary augmentation of coaches will provide additional berths to passengers travelling on these important routes and help accommodate the growing travel demand during the period,” the ECoR stated.
