Rayagada, Aug 5: In a tragic incident, a five-year-old girl died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Gudari area of Odisha’s Rayagada district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Bhulata, daughter of Sanjay Kaibarta.
As per reports, Bhulata went outside her home to relieve herself when she was bitten by a venomous snake. Her family rushed her to Padmapur Hospital, where the attending doctor pronounced her dead.
Upon getting the information, Gudari police outpost officials arrived at the hospital and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent to Gunpur Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
