Baripada, Aug 26: In a shocking incident, a fire service constable sustained critical burn injuries after a Havildar allegedly threw hot water on him over a verbal duel. The incident took place at Bangiriposhi Fire Station in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Monday.
According to the report, the injured constable who has been identified as Dushmant Kumar Dehury had returned late to the barrack. However, a verbal duel ensued between Dushmant and accused Havildar Nutan Mallick over coming late. Following the heated exchange , Nutan, in a fit of rage threw hot water on Dehury.
Dehury was rescued by other co-workers and rushed to Bangiriposhi Community Health Centre in a critical condition. Later he was shifted to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada after his condition deteriorated.
