Bhubaneswar, Sep 07: The Odisha Excise Department continued intensive enforcement operations across the state on Saturday, resulting in seizures valued at ₹1.42 crore.

 The coordinated raids led to the registration of 264 cases and the arrest of 183 persons.

During the drive, enforcement teams registered 17 NDPS cases and seized 251 kilograms of ganja, 317 grams of brown sugar, 9 kilograms of bhang. Simultaneously, they seized and destroyed large volumes of illicit liquor and brewing material, including 9723 BL of ID liquor, 60630 BL of fermented wash.

The operations covered both rural and urban areas, targeting illegal manufacture and supply networks, with concealed stockpiles being dismantled on the spot.

 The Department reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining this momentum in the coming weeks to curb the menace of illicit liquor and narcotics and to safeguard public health.
