
Phulbani, Sept 12: In a disturbing incident reported from Salaguda under Phiringia block of Odisha’s Kandhamal district, as many as eight students of a Sevashram School were hospitalized in critical condition after some of their classmates allegedly applied Fevikwik glue to their eyes while they were asleep in the hostel last night.
As per reports, the victims were unable to open their eyes due to the adhesive and were initially taken to Gochhapada Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical treatment. Later, they were transferred to the Kandhamal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Phulbani for more specialized treatment.
Doctors at the district hospital are currently attending to the students and their condition is reported to be critical.
Upon getting the information, the Kandhamal District Welfare Officer (DWO) has arrived at the hospital and is closely overseeing the students' treatment.
Authorities have confirmed that all necessary medical assistance is being provided to the injured students.
