Bhubaneswar, May 20: In order to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the peak summer season, Indian Railways has announced the extension of the existing weekly Summer Special train services between Patna Junction and Khurda Road, along with the introduction of a new weekly Summer Special train service between Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Khurda Road.
According to the East Coast Railway, the weekly Summer Special train services between Patna Junction and Khurda Road have been extended to cater to continued passenger demand.
While Train No. 03230 Patna Junction – Khurda Road Weekly Summer Special has been extended up to June 25, Train No. 03229 Khurda Road – Patna Junction Weekly Summer Special has been extended up to June 26, said ECoR release.
The timings, stoppages and coach composition of these trains will remain unchanged.
Additionally, Indian Railways has introduced a new weekly Summer Special train service (01929/01930) between Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi (VGLJ) and Khurda Road to enhance passenger convenience and improve connectivity.
As per the release, Train No. 01929 Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi (VGLJ) – Khurda Road Weekly Summer Special will depart from Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi every Friday at 04:55 hrs and arrive at Khurda Road Junction on Saturday at 19:30 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 01930 Khurda Road – Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi (VGLJ) Weekly Summer Special will depart from Khurda Road Junction every Sunday at 00:35 hrs and arrive at Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi on Monday at 11:15 hrs.
The newly introduced train service will provide connectivity to several important stations including Gwalior, Etawah, Subedarganj, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Junction, Gaya, Adra, Hijli, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Naraj Marthapur and Bhubaneswar.
The Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi – Khurda Road – Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi train will have a composition of 10 sleeper coaches, five general second class coaches, one AC 2-Tier coach and two AC 3-Tier coaches.
