Bhubaneswar, July 19: Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Sunday reviewed the security, traffic, and crowd management arrangements at the Gundicha Temple in Puri.
The DGP was accompanied by ADGP (Modernisation) Soumendra Priyadarshi and IGP, Central Range, Dr. Satyajit Naik during the inspection.
The senior police officers assessed the on-ground security measures, monitored ongoing operations, interacted with field personnel, and reviewed coordination among various agencies involved in managing the annual festival.
Officials said the inspection focused on streamlining entry and exit routes for devotees, strengthening surveillance systems, enhancing traffic management, and ensuring effective communication between the police, temple administration, and civic authorities.
The officers remained stationed at the temple throughout the day, supervising preparations and guiding personnel to ensure smooth execution of security plans. They focused on safe, secure, and hassle-free darshan experience for devotees during the Rath Yatra festivities.
