Odisha Deputy CM KV Singh Deo participates in SIR exercise

Balangir, June 7: Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Sunday took part in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise being conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the State.

Patnaik signed the enumeration form for the special intensive revision at his Kharmar in Patnagarh of Balangir district.

He shared an image of the moment on X and said, " This exercise strengthens the foundation of our democracy by ensuring every eligible citizen is rightly included in the electoral process.” 

“Participated in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral roll today at Kharmar, Patnagarh. As part of the state-wide voter verification and enrollment drive, I officially filled out and submitted my enumeration form. This exercise strengthens the foundation of our democracy by ensuring every eligible citizen is rightly included in the electoral process. Let us all come forward and take part in this important initiative before June 28,” wrote Singh Deo.

The Special Intensive Revision of the voters’ list in Odisha will continue till June 28. The final voters’ list after SIR will be published on September 6.

As per the ECI, a total of 45,255 booth-level officers (BLOs) have been engaged in the exercise. The BLOs will visit door-to-door across Odisha to verify voter details.

The exercise aims to update and streamline electoral rolls ahead of future elections by verifying voter details through door-to-door outreach. As part of the drive, BLOs will go door-to-door to meet people. During these visits, they will distribute forms. People will have to fill out these forms and return them to the BLOs.
