Bhubaneswar, September 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday left for a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), aimed at attracting investments to the state and strengthening commercial and cultural ties with the country.
Majhi arrived at the Bhubaneswar airport before departing for the UAE, where he is scheduled to meet leading investors, industrialists and representatives of global companies, besides interacting with the Odia diaspora.
Ahead of his departure, the Chief Minister said Odisha was emerging as a preferred destination for global investment, highlighting the state's focus on ease of doing business (EoDB), investor confidence, enabling policies and faster project execution.
"Odisha is emerging as a preferred destination for global investment. With a strong focus on EoDB, investor confidence, enabling policies and faster project execution, we are creating an ecosystem where businesses can invest, grow and thrive," Majhi said in a post on X.
"Our vision is clear: to make Odisha the first choice for investors seeking opportunity, stability and sustainable growth. Today, we take this message to the UAE and strengthen our engagement with global investors and industry leaders," he added.
According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the UAE visit marks Majhi's second international investment roadshow. During the three-day tour, he will lead Odisha's investment outreach in Abu Dhabi and Dubai through a series of high-level government engagements, investor meetings, business interactions and diaspora programmes.
The visit will begin in Abu Dhabi, where Majhi is scheduled to engage with prominent UAE institutions and investors. His itinerary includes a roundtable with IHC, signing of Memoranda of Cooperation (MoCs), and meetings with the UAE Minister of Investment and sovereign investment funds.
The Chief Minister will then travel to Dubai, where he is scheduled to hold a series of one-to-one meetings with industry leaders and prospective investors.
On September 11, Majhi will participate in the Odisha Investors Meet in Dubai and interact with members of the Odia diaspora. The programme is expected to further strengthen the state's engagement with its global community.
The CMO said the UAE outreach will showcase Odisha's investment-ready ecosystem, industrial strengths, emerging sectors and growth opportunities to the UAE business community and international investors.
The visit is also expected to provide a platform for deepening investment, trade and industrial partnerships between Odisha and the UAE.
Majhi is scheduled to leave the UAE on September 12, bringing his international investment outreach to a close.
