Mumbai Police detain eleventh suspect in Tiger Shroff shooting case

Detectives capture suspected weapon supplier at an Indore hospital

Mumbai Police apprehended a 22-year-old engineering diploma holder from an Indore hospital for his alleged involvement in the October 18 shooting incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. Pranjal Thakran, a native of Sonipat in Haryana, represents the eleventh suspect detained in this ongoing investigation. Law enforcement officials tracked him down while he was visiting his paralyzed brother, who is currently undergoing medical treatment.  Recent shootings involving high-profile personalities have forced law enforcement agencies to crack down aggressively on interstate firearm syndicates.

Crime Branch detectives presented the suspect before the Esplanade court, securing his police custody until October 31. Prosecutors informed the judiciary that Thakran maintained direct communication with wanted orchestrator Anil Pandit. Following Pandit's directives, the young wrestler allegedly provided firearms to the individuals who opened fire at the actor's vehicle in Juhu. Investigators are now focusing on uncovering the financial trails and digital messaging platforms utilized by the suspects to execute their operation. Defense counsel Ajinkya Mirgal refuted these allegations, stating his client was completely uninvolved and simply tending to his ailing family member during the incident.

Expanding criminal probe

Detectives previously noted that Thakran carries a prior criminal record and had been free on bail for a similar weapon-related offense in Panipat. This earlier operation reportedly followed an identical pattern under Pandit's instructions, involving co-accused Rehan Ansari. Three assailants originally discharged their weapons at the celebrity's vehicle before fleeing on motorcycles. Investigators revealed that two pistols and several live cartridges were recently recovered near a railway station in Surat, Gujarat. Officers are currently conducting forensic ballistic tests on these recovered weapons to verify if they match the empty casings found at the Juhu crime scene. With eleven individuals now in custody, authorities continue to trace remaining links connected to this interstate intimidation ring.
