Odisha CM lays foundation for over ₹28,000 crore industrial projects in Ganjam

Berhampur, June 05: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for 12 industrial projects worth over ₹28,000 crore at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district. 

The investments span across sectors such as green hydrogen, chemicals, and renewable energy, marking a significant milestone in the district’s economic development.

During the event, the Chief Minister stated that these projects will create over 15,000 employment opportunities and are a testament to the success of the “Make in Odisha 2025” initiative.

 “Today, Ganjam has achieved a new milestone in its industrial journey. These projects will open a new path of prosperity for the district,” he said.

Highlighting the rapid industrialization under his government, Majhi mentioned that Odisha has attracted investments exceeding ₹1.5 lakh crore in the past five months, resulting in nearly 90,000 job opportunities. 

“From ₹70,000 crore in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur, to ₹50,000 crore in Dhenkanal yesterday, and now ₹30,000 crore here in Ganjam — Odisha is setting new records in investment and development,” he added.

The CM emphasized Odisha's vision for port-led industrial development. 

He announced that apart from the existing three ports, more ports will be developed to facilitate industrial logistics. 

He further highlighted that the central government has approved infrastructure projects worth ₹1 lakh crore in railways and highways for Odisha, and the state will soon have a network of 75,000 km of world-class roads and multiple industrial corridors.

Focusing on youth empowerment, the CM reaffirmed his belief in the capability of Odisha’s youth to lead the state into a prosperous future. 

“Our dream of a prosperous Odisha by 2036 will be achieved through the strength and skill of our youth. We are setting up four World Skill Centers to build modern industry-ready talent,” he said. He also announced partnerships with Singapore’s ITEES to enhance skill development and modernize all ITIs across the state.

The event witnessed the presence of several key dignitaries including Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik, Aska MP Anita Subhadarshini, and other MLAs. Berhampur MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi delivered the welcome address, while Chhatrapur MLA Krushna Chandra Nayak extended the vote of thanks.
