Bhubaneswar, Aug 26: With an aim to enhance citizen participation and ensure better execution of welfare schemes through direct public feedback, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Tuesday launched a new initiative ‘Ama Shasana’ (Our Governance).

As per reports, CM Majhi inaugurated the programme at Lok Seva Bhawan in the presence of cabinet ministers and senior officials.

He also launched a dedicated portal (www.amashasana.odisha.gov.in) enabling citizens to share feedback on government schemes.

“This is not merely a scheme but a mission to deliver governance to every village’s doorstep,” CM Majhi said, emphasizing that the initiative highlights the government’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and citizen-focused governance.

Under Ama Shasana, citizens can reach out through a toll-free helpline (14471) or WhatsApp (7400221903) for grievance redressal and communication. The initiative also allows the Chief Minister and ministers to directly call beneficiaries for feedback.

Soon after the launch, CM Majhi interacted with citizens, including a girl student who received Rs 5,000 under the Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme, introduced in 2024–25 to support ST students in Class 9 and 11 and curb dropout rates.

During the interaction, the student shared that she spent the funds on books, stationery, and essentials like a dress and shoes. CM Majhi inquired whether school authorities had sought money for processing the benefit and assured prompt action if such issues emerged. He urged students to report any problems directly to him or via the helpline.

Majhi also interacted with a male beneficiary of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, asking about his experience and any difficulties encountered while availing hospital services.

“The government is now reaching the people directly. This is a people’s government, guided by the people’s voice,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in a post on ‘X’.
