All shops, markets, business, and educational institutions are closed from dawn to dusk in response to the bandh call.

Public transport vehicles are off the road as the city wore a deserted look. However, emergency services like medical and fire services have been exempted from the purview of the bandh. Sources said, the young woman who is a resident of Baradol village, had reportedly gone to attend the Dhanu Yatra and later went missing. She was rescued from Kurla forest in critical condition.

Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in-charge Professor Lalmohan Nayak clarified that the young woman was not raped. Dr Nayak informed that the young woman’s health is improving and she will be discharged from the hospital soon.
