New Delhi, March 23: The Ministry of Education has confirmed that there are no plans to reinstate the one-year duration for the Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme.

Union Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, made this statement in response to a written query in the Lok Sabha.

According to the information provided by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the statutory body responsible for regulating teacher education standards in the country, there is currently no proposal to revert the BEd programme back to its one-year format.
