No more delays: Odisha students to receive uniforms soon

Bhubaneswar, April 9: The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has announced that students from nursery to Class X across the state will receive school uniforms by April 27, 2026. The initiative will include a quality check of all garments before distribution.

OSEPA has issued detailed guidelines for uniform preparation and distribution, instructing all district education officers and project coordinators to adhere strictly to the rules. According to the directive, the uniforms are to be distributed to all students before the summer holidays, ensuring timely availability for the new academic session.

For the 2026–27 academic year, students from nursery to Class X will receive school uniforms, house dresses, shoes, and socks. Students from nursery to Class VIII will additionally receive identity cards and caps. Responsibilities for uniform preparation remain with the existing agencies, including SHGs and relevant production units, without any changes in assignment. District committees will oversee the distribution process to ensure smooth implementation.

Schools are instructed to prepare student lists, separating boys and girls, to facilitate organized distribution. By April 10, all school data must reach the respective Block Education Officers. By April 12, the uniform-preparing agencies’ work orders will be reviewed. Uniform distribution is scheduled to be completed by April 27, followed by a quality check by April 30. The final reports on distribution and quality are to be submitted to OSEPA by May 2.

This systematic approach aims to ensure that every student receives proper uniforms in time for the new school year, maintaining both quality and equity across Odisha’s educational institutions.
