Bhubaneswar, July 31: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has made a strong beginning to the financial year 2026–27, delivering robust operational and financial performance in the first quarter.
According to the financial results approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held in New Delhi today, NALCO has reported an outstanding performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026.
The company registered 88% increase in net profit, which rose to Rs.2002.38 crore from Rs.1063.86 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Revenue from operations also recorded a robust growth of 39% over corresponding period last year, increasing to Rs 5302.38 crore during the quarter.
The Board has also recommended final dividend of Re.1/- per equity share (20% on face value of Rs.5/- each) amounting to Rs.183.66 crores for the FY 2025-26, for approval of shareholders in the ensuing 45th Annual General Meeting.
Highlighting on the company's strong first-quarter performance, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NALCO, attributed the impressive results to the strategic guidance of the Board of Directors and the unwavering commitment of the Company's employees, business associates and stakeholders.
"NALCO has commenced FY 2026–27 on a strong note, reflecting the Company's operational resilience and prudent business strategy. The robust performance during the first quarter was supported by a favourable global aluminium price, higher production and sales volumes particularly increased domestic alumina sales, and a conducive domestic business climate”, he said.
Acknowledging the invaluable guidance and support extended by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the continued support of the Government of Odisha, in steering NALCO on its path of business excellence, Singh further said that as the Company moves forward, NALCO remains focused on completion of ongoing expansion projects with thrust on further adding capacities,enhancing operational efficiency, optimising resource utilization along with R&D innovation for delivering sustained value for all our stakeholders.
Notably, compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, NALCO has recorded its highest-ever Q1 bauxite excavation at 19.52 lakh tonnes and highest-ever Q1 calcined alumina production at5.77 lakh tonnes. On the sales front, the company has also achieved its highest-ever Q1 sale of alumina/hydratei.e3.47 lakh tonnes.
