Cuttack, Nov 3: Odisha were beaten comprehensibly with a 54-run margin by Madhya Pradesh in the Under-19 Women T20 Trophy 2023 played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.
Electing to bat first, Madhya Pradesh Under 19 women put on board 133/6 in the allotted 20 overs, informed Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) sources.
Aayushi Shukla (61 in 53 balls) and Soniya Singh (19 in 11 balls) did impress with the willow against Odisha bowlers.
For Odisha, skipper Jyoti K Prasad, who impressed with her spin bowling skills, topped the wickets-column with 2 for 22 figure in her 4 overs quota.
Chasing 134 target, Odisha could manage 79/8 in 20 overs. Priyankaree Muduli (33 in 52 balls) and Sai Krripa (16 in 25 balls) could withstand up to some extent against MP bowlers.
For the winners MP, Aanadi Tagde (1/15) and Dhano Buchade (1/14) bowled well. They were supported with excellent fielding by their teammates.
Earlier, Odisha had defeated minnows Assam by 8 wickets at the same venue on Thursday.
