Delhi, July 5: Puri MP Sambit Patra's WhatsApp account has been reportedly hacked and subsequently misused by the hacker.
It came to light on Sunday when some strange messages were shared from the MP’s WhatsApp account to some of his friends and followers seeking financial aid from them.
Though Patra is yet to comment on the matter, a Journalist & YouTuber from Bihar, identified as Ajit Anjum has expressed concern over the hacker’s bid who was trying to dupe of a sizeable amount from him.
Anjum on a post on X wrote, “Today, I received a message on WhatsApp from BJP MP Sambit Patra in the afternoon - "Hello, I need a little help."
The post further read, “At first, I was shocked that a BJP MP would need some kind of help from me, of all people. It's been five to seven years since we last spoke. I called on WhatsApp. No answer. Then, they sent a QR code and asked me for 65,000 rupees. It hit me that Sambit’s WhatsApp has been hacked, and the hacker is sending these messages to people in his contacts to scam them.”
“I'm attaching a screenshot of the conversation that followed here”, Anjum’s post on X added.
