New York, May 6: “Punjabi aa gaye oye!” cheered excited fans as Diljit Dosanjh made a striking debut at the 2025 Met Gala, showcasing a powerful blend of tradition and modernity. On Monday, the beloved singer and actor ascended the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, exuding regal elegance in a custom ensemble by designer Prabal Gurung.
Draped in traditional Punjabi attire, Diljit embodied the essence of a modern-day Maharaja. He proudly wore a turban—a symbol of Sikh identity—paired with a kurta and tehmat, and elevated the look with a dramatic cape inscribed with the Punjabi alphabet. Adding to the grandeur, he carried a ceremonial sword and adorned himself with exquisite jewellery believed to be from the legendary Cartier collection of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.
