Patna, October 17: The Bihar government has officially banned YouTubers and other unauthorised individuals with recording equipment from entering government school classrooms.
This decision follows concerns over disruptions caused by media personnel, particularly those representing YouTube channels, who have been entering schools without prior approval.
In a recent directive, the Education Department instructed all district education officers to tighten restrictions on unauthorised media access. The department emphasized that such entries have caused significant disruptions, affecting both students' focus and the overall learning environment.
The Director of the Education Department highlighted the increasing trend of individuals from various organisations entering school premises uninvited, creating interruptions and raising concerns about the safety and well-being of students and teachers. These surprise visits, often broadcasted online, have led to uncomfortable situations for teachers and students alike.
To safeguard the educational process, the new guidelines grant school principals the sole authority to interact with the press. Reporters wishing to film inside classrooms must first obtain the principal's permission. This measure aims to ensure a safe and undisturbed environment where students can focus on their learning without external distractions.
