​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, July 30: A Bhubaneswar court has sentenced ganja trafficker Rajesh Singh to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment under the NDPS Act for possessing and transporting a commercial quantity of cannabis.

The 1st Additional Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh, with an additional six months' imprisonment in case of default.

The conviction stems from a June 3, 2022, STF operation in which 1,010 kg of ganja was seized from a secret chamber of a Hywa truck near Dumuduma on NH-16. The STF had busted the interstate drug trafficking network operating between Odisha and Bihar based on intelligence inputs.

According to the STF, this is its sixth successful conviction in 2026, maintaining a 100 per cent conviction rate in all cases decided this year.
