Musician Arun Prasad secures three global records despite autism

Forty-one-year-old musician Arun Prasad from Koorkenchery has shattered limitations by earning three prestigious global certifications. This talented autistic singer recently secured top honours from the India Book of Records, International Book of Records, and World Wide Book of Records. He achieved this extraordinary feat by completing more than 100 consecutive live musical stage performances. By reaching this impressive milestone, he became one of only a few neurodivergent artists globally to receive three separate record recognitions simultaneously for a single accomplishment.

Overcoming Early Childhood Hurdles

Life presented severe communication challenges for this Kerala native early on. Until he reached two and a half years of age, he remained entirely unable to speak. His vital breakthrough happened after his family admitted him for specialized, intensive training at Mysuru’s Speech and Hearing Institute. Today, he fluently sings in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi, while maintaining high linguistic proficiency in English and Kannada. His academic resilience also shines brightly through his ability to clear both SSLC and higher secondary school board examinations without using any writing assistants or external scribes.

Expanding Creative and Professional Horizons

Music remains his core passion, but his talents naturally extend into various creative fields. Over recent years, he successfully recorded 54 unique devotional tracks. Furthermore, he lent his versatile voice and acting skills to four distinct music albums. Beyond his vocal abilities, he expertly plays both the keyboard and violin. He actively performs on stage, continuously entertaining crowds across various regions for seven consecutive years. His powerful drive for financial independence also pushed him into the local business sector. He currently manages and runs his own desktop publishing center, named Arun Vision, situated right in his hometown.

Unwavering family support laid the primary foundation for his current widespread fame. His mother, Prema, sacrificed her established career as a college lecturer and bank employee to focus completely on his daily development. Similarly, his father, Thayamkottu Ravi Prasad, firmly declined a lucrative job offer in Dubai to stay home and closely nurture his son’s growing musical interests. His younger brother, Varun Prasad, currently works as a software engineer in Dubai, providing additional encouragement to the family.
