Bhubaneswar, March 14: In a heart wrenching incident in Odisha’s Capital City, a man brutally killed his wife following a domestic feud and continued to live with the body for at least three days.
The dismaying and fatal domestic violence took place at Tarini Nagar slum of Salia Sahi area under Maitri Vihar police station in Bhubaneswar.
The incident came to fore after the neighbours informed police smelling something foul, coming out of someone’s house.
Police sources said, a married woman, identified as Rina Jena was remaining alcoholic most of the time. A few days ago, she was in a drunken condition and engaged in an altercation with her husband. Irked over it, his husband bludgeoned her to death. However, to conceal the crime he sealed the body in a locked room and waited for a chance to dispose it of conveniently.
However, he was nabbed by the police after the woman’s body was recovered from the house after and inventory on Thursday.
The body was sent for autopsy after seizure and primary investigation, whereas the accused was remanded to judicial custody, said Investigation Officer (IO), Mrityunjaya Swain.
