Ahmedabad, October 2: Mahatma Gandhi's writings on a wide range of subjects, including religion, politics, education, democracy, farming and economics, continue to remain relevant as they offer practical insights into problems that persist even today, a board member of Navajivan Trust said on Friday.
The Ahmedabad-based Navajivan Trust, founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, has played a significant role in preserving, publishing and disseminating his writings and literary works.
"The breadth of Gandhi's writings is one of the lesser-known aspects of his literary legacy. Whether it is religion, politics, education, villages, democracy, farming or economics, there is hardly any subject he did not address. Since many of the problems of the past continue to persist today, his writings offer several answers to these contemporary challenges," said Soham Patel, a board member of Navajivan Trust.
Patel highlighted the wide-ranging nature of Gandhi's thoughts and writings, noting that they went beyond the political and social issues of his time and covered several aspects of everyday life and governance.
The Navajivan Trust has continued its efforts to make Gandhi's writings accessible to readers, researchers and the wider public, helping preserve his ideas and their relevance for contemporary society.
