Puri, August 19: A woman has approached Talabania police seeking justice after her boyfriend allegedly fled from a marriage registration office in Puri shortly after their marriage was registered.

According to reports, the woman and the man had been in a relationship for nearly eight years after meeting while working at the same company in Bengaluru. The man had allegedly promised to marry her and make her his life partner.

The couple reportedly travelled from Bengaluru to Puri and completed their marriage registration with mutual consent at the registration office. However, soon after the formalities were completed, the man allegedly left the office and disappeared.

The woman reportedly made several attempts to contact him over the phone, but he did not answer her calls. His mobile phone was later switched off, leaving her unable to contact him.

Following the incident, the woman approached Talabania police station and sought police intervention to trace the man and provide her justice.

The woman is reportedly from the Kumbharpada police station area, while the man belongs to the Talbania police station area of Puri. Both had been working in Bengaluru when they first met and subsequently entered into a relationship.

Police have reportedly registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations. Efforts are underway to trace the man and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
