New Delhi, July 26: After a week of disruptions in Parliament, the Lok Sabha is set to resume business on Monday with a special discussion on India’s Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
The debate, expected to span three days and last approximately 16 hours, will see participation from key ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
The discussion is likely to be intense, with the Opposition prepared to challenge the government, especially in light of recent claims by U.S. President Donald Trump, who said he had mediated to prevent a potential nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan, eventually brokering a ceasefire agreement between the two nations.
However, India has officially clarified that the halt in hostilities came after direct communication between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries, and was initiated by Islamabad, not through any third-party intervention.
