Keonjhar Miners secure Odisha T20 League title with ease

Keonjhar Miners captured the Bharat Masala Odisha T20 League CM Trophy following a remarkable nine-wicket win over Sambalpur Warriors. Wednesday's championship clash happened at Cuttack's historic Barabati Stadium, a venue famous for hosting the most celebrated cricketing events in the region. The winning side displayed total control with both bat and ball to secure the top honors.

Sambalpur Warriors found no rhythm against a disciplined bowling attack, eventually folding for just 102 runs in 18.3 overs. Constant pressure led to a severe batting collapse, leaving the team struggling at 55 for 8 before they added late runs. Jamala Mohapatra emerged as a top performer for Keonjhar, taking two crucial wickets while giving away only 13 runs during his tight four-over spell.

Unbeaten stand secures championship

Chasing the low target brought early tension when Keonjhar lost Rajesh Dhupar for a single run off four deliveries. Mayank Pattanayak and team captain Subhranshu Senapati quickly removed any doubt, building an aggressive and unbroken 89-run partnership. Pattanayak blasted 72 runs from merely 34 balls. Senapati played a perfect supporting role, adding 32 runs off 26 balls to guide his team safely over the finish line.

Keonjhar captain Subhranshu Senapati publicly thanked the franchise owner and support staff for backing the players through difficult moments. He pointed out that recovering from two early tournament defeats demanded complete focus from the entire dressing room. Franchise owner Pratyush Manish Khemka shared his extreme pride in the group's mental toughness. He highlighted how winning three consecutive matches after a poor start showed immense resilience, culminating in a dominant performance on the biggest stage.
