Canada: August 8: Comedian Kapil Sharma’s café, Cups N Cones, located in Surrey, Canada, was targeted in a shooting for the second time on Thursday. A video of the incident, currently circulating widely on social media, shows unidentified individuals firing multiple rounds at the café from a moving vehicle.
Notably, no injuries have been reported in the incident. Local law enforcement has launched an investigation, and security around the café has reportedly been increased.
Shortly after the attack, gangster Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility through a social media post, stating that the shooting was carried out by his gang. Dhillon further claimed affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a criminal organization known for its involvement in multiple high-profile violent crimes.
In his post, Dhillon wrote:
"Ram Ram to all brothers… Goldy Dhillon and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang are responsible for today’s shooting at Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey."
This is the second such attack on Sharma's café. A similar incident occurred on July 10, when assailants opened fire on the establishment, discharging 10 to 12 rounds. A video from that attack also surfaced online, showing a pistol being fired from a car at close range.
That earlier shooting was claimed by Harjit Singh Laddi, a wanted Khalistani extremist. Laddi is listed among the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) most wanted and is allegedly linked to the proscribed terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
As of now, Kapil Sharma has not issued any public statement regarding either of the incidents. Police investigations are ongoing.
