Bhubaneswar: A hattrick goal haul by Debasis Ram Marandi powered Kandhamal to win over Nuapada by 9-0 in the league round match of the 64th Senior Men Inter District Football Championship for Sahani Cup 2025 at Boudh Zone on Tuesday.
Kandhamal dominated the show from the beginning of the match, Dulu Mallick drew the first blood in the first minute of the play and put Nuapada on the backfoot.
Debasis Ram Marandi joined the party by scoring in the 11th, 22nd and 29th minutes. Sk Farid nailed double goals in the 21st and 59th minutes, Md Imtiaz and Bebeswar Mallick contributed a goal each in the 45+4 and 87th minutes respectively. Unfortunately, Santosh Mallick of Nuapada scored a self-goal in the 37th minute. In another match of the day, Samabalpur defeated Bolangir by 3-2 goals.
