Jajpur, June 14: The recent outbreak of diarrhoea in Odisha’s Jajpur district is now reportedly under control, with a declining number of new cases. As of today, 49 patients are receiving treatment at the Dharmasala Medical facility, according to health authorities.
In a high-level review of the situation, National Health Mission (NHM) Managing Director D. Brunda and Additional Secretary of the Health Department Vijay Kumar Mohapatra visited the Dharmasala hospital to assess conditions and oversee response measures. The team also held discussions with the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), local medical officers, and the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Jajpur.
Officials confirmed that monitoring continues and awareness efforts have been intensified in affected areas. Locals are being advised to avoid traditional mass feasts and not consume leftover rice, especially during the Raja festival period, as a preventive step. Special emphasis is being placed on the consumption of safe drinking water.
The health department has assured that the number of infections is gradually decreasing and all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the situation remains under control.
