Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: Commissionerate police on Thursday busted a gang involved in apartment robberies and arrested two persons.
The interstate gang comprising members from Odisha, Gujurat, Chhatisgarh, Maharastra and others were involved in several robberies in the city. The gang used to target the apartments where the family had gone outstation and robbed the valuables by breaking the door, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
After a bold robbery occurred in the Nayapalli area of the city one month ago, the Commissionerate Police has heightened night patrolling efforts and diligently reviewed CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprits. A dedicated squad of the Commissionerate Police successfully tracked down the robbers using clues obtained from the CCTV footage, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
The gang, responsible for a series of robberies, targeted 12 flats across five apartment complexes in various parts of the capital city. The areas affected include Chandka, Infocity, Bharatpur, and Mancheswar police limits.
