India Dominates Early Rivals
India delivered a remarkable attacking masterclass to thrash rival Pakistan 7-1 during their FIH Pro League encounter in London. Abu Bakar Mahmood initially gave Pakistan the lead with a 13th-minute drag-flick. However, the Indian squad quickly retaliated with seven consecutive goals to claim all three points at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.
Matches between these historic nations always carry intense pressure due to decades of fierce sporting history and numerous Olympic clashes on the global stage. Harmanpreet Singh and his energetic team completely neutralized that pressure by dictating the pace of the game.
Seven Spectacular Goals Seal Victory
Sukhjeet Singh equalized in the 20th minute by deflecting a powerful shot from his captain. Harmanpreet then fired a direct drag-flick into the top corner right before halftime. This excellent strike put India in front 2-1 going into the break.
Hardik Singh extended this lead via a penalty stroke in the 34th minute. He eventually earned Player of the Match honors for his excellent midfield control and calm presence. Soon after, Jugraj Singh finished a swift counter-attack to make it 4-1. Abhishek struck on the run in the 41st minute, while Raj Kumar Pal easily tapped in a rebound shortly after. Dilpreet Singh added the seventh and final goal in the closing minutes. Indian defenders also held exceptionally strong, blocking several late penalty corners to finish the hockey match securely and celebrate a magnificent win over their traditional rivals.
