Mumbai, October 10: India bid a tearful farewell to the legendary industrialist Ratan Tata, with thousands, including political leaders, business magnates, and common citizens, gathering to pay their last respects.
Tata, 86, passed away after battling age-related health issues at Breach Candy Hospital. His mortal remains were taken to NCPA Lawns, followed by a procession to the Worli Crematorium.
Dignitaries such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, and industrial giants like Mukesh Ambani attended, honoring Tata’s immense contributions.
The glass-topped coffin, draped in the Tricolour, passed through streets lined with grieving Mumbaikars, many holding placards in tribute.
At the Worli Crematorium, a gun salute marked Tata’s final journey, with his family and a few close individuals present. Throughout his life, Tata touched millions through his industries, philanthropy, and personal gestures, leaving behind an enduring legacy.
