Bhawanipatna, July 3: A youth lost his life after reportedly falling from a hill at the Gudahandi-Dokarichanchara tourist destination in Kalahandi district on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place at the scenic tourist spot located inside the Sahajkhol Reserved Forest under Dudukathenga Panchayat in Kokasara block.

According to local sources, residents of Khaligad village alerted authorities about the incident on Thursday evening after spotting the youth lying at the site. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.

Police recovered a motorcycle from near the tourist spot, believed to belong to the deceased. However, it is still unclear whether the youth had visited the location alone or was accompanied by others. The circumstances under which he fell from the hill are yet to be ascertained.

Personnel from Ampani Police Station rushed to the spot after receiving the information and have launched an investigation. Further details are awaited as police work to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the cause of the incident.
