Addressing thefirst convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradeshin Anantapur on Wednesday, the President congratulated the graduating students on their academic achievements and encouraged them to channel their knowledge and skills toward the welfare of the nation, particularly those who are less privileged.
Highlighting the transformative power of education, President Murmu said learning should not remain confined to personal growth or professional advancement but should become a means of empowering disadvantaged communities. She stressed that educated citizens have a vital role in reducing social inequalities and creating opportunities for those who lack access to resources and education.
"You have the responsibility to give back to society. Let your learning become a source of strength for the underprivileged," the President said while addressing the graduates.
President Murmu noted that universities are not merely institutions that award degrees but are centres that shape responsible, compassionate, and socially conscious citizens. She urged the graduating students to uphold the values of integrity, empathy, and public service throughout their personal and professional lives.
She also encouraged the students to remain committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and excellence while contributing to India's progress. The President said the country's future depends on young minds who are equipped with knowledge as well as a strong sense of social responsibility.
The event was attended by Governor of Andhra Praedsh Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, Union Education Minister , Dharmendra Pradhan, university officials, faculty members, students, and their families, who witnessed the conferral of degrees and the President's inspiring address.
