Two arrested for stopping ‘Ama Bus,’harassing bus passengers in Bhubaneswar

A disturbing incident took place near Shailashree Bihar, close to the Jagannath Temple in Bhubaneswar, when two young men stopped an “Ama Bus” on a busy road and harassed its passengers.

Bhubaneswar, AP 20: A disturbing incident took place near Shailashree Bihar, close to the Jagannath Temple in Bhubaneswar, when two young men stopped an “Ama Bus” on a busy road and harassed its passengers.

The incident reportedly lasted about 15 minutes. The youths forced the bus to stop, attacked the driver when he resisted, and verbally abused a female passenger, causing panic among commuters. Their reckless behavior also disrupted traffic in the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the situation escalated until police arrived, prompting the two men to flee.

Using video footage from the scene, Chandrasekharpur police quickly identified and arrested the accused under charges of intimidation and harassment. The arrested youths have been named Saroj Jena and Barun Pattnayak. Authorities also confiscated the scooter used by the suspects.

Police have confirmed that further investigation is ongoing, and additional safety measures are being implemented in the area to prevent similar incidents in the future.
