Konark, April 25: In a tragic turn of sequences, a woman devotee was bitten by a venomous snake while she was prerforming a havan at the Konark Nabagraha Temple on Saturday.
The woman, identified as Rinki Senapati a resident of Paradip, is under critical care in Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, Rinki accompanied by her family members had been to Konark today to offer prayer at the Nabagraha Temple, adjacent to the Konark Sun Temple. As part of the votive, she was performing a havan before the Nabagraha Temple. Meanwhile, a venomous snake reportedly bit her while she was offering ‘Purnahuti’.
With her concerning health, she was rushed to Konark PHC then to the Gop Community Health Center for resuscitation. Subsequently, she was shifted to a health facility in Bhubaneswar for higer-end care as her health yet deteriorated.
