Bhubaneswar: The South Eastern Railway (SER) will face SAI Kolkata in the final of the 2nd Michael Kindo Memorial Championship Trophy 2026 – All India Women’s Hockey Championship at Kalinga Stadium here on Wednesday.
The championship, being organised by the Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust in association with the Hockey Association of Odisha, continues to promote women’s hockey and honour the legacy of legendary Olympian Michael Kindo.
The day’s semifinal matches were graced by distinguished guest Dr. Satyajeet Choudhary, whose presence served as a great source of encouragement for the players and organisers. Also present on the occasion was former National Hockey player Goutam Mohanty.
Among other dignitaries present were Sanatan Sahoo, Secretary, Hockey Association of Odisha; Capt. Ratikanta Nayak, Chairman, Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust; Ranjan Kumar Das, Secretary, Bhubaneswar Hockey Club Trust; and International Hockey Technical Official Nishan Jyoti Mohanty.
The first Semi-Final match witnessed an exciting contest where South Eastern Railway defeated CISF by 4–2, securing their place in the Grand Final. In the second Semi-Final, Sports Hostel Sundargarh faced SAI Kolkata in a competitive encounter, with SAI Kolkata emerging victorious to book their spot in the Final.
